It’s been a busy week for NASMA as we held our Annual General Meeting of 2025. We are pleased to announce that the following individuals have been duly elected to the NASMA Board:

Jess Bates – Vice Chair, Governance and Operations

Graham Wright – Campaigns Co-ordinator

Vicki Kinninmonth – Scotland Policy

Ann Clowes – England Policy

We are delighted to welcome Jess, Graham, Vicky and Ann, and will be in touch with members in the coming months, so you can get to know them better. While we are thrilled to welcome new Board members, this only happens where we are also saying goodbye to Board members who have reached then end of their term. We therefore must say goodbye to:

Louise Miles – Vice Chair, Governance and Operations

Abi Keay – Campaigns Co-ordinator

Pamela Lockhart – Scotland Policy

Emma Quirke – England Policy

Louise has been a steadying hand throughout her tenure as Vice Chair, Governance and Operations. Truly living up to NASMA’s Values, she has been a true professional, contributing to all aspects of the organisation’s objectives, from the design of National Student Money Week Campaigns to supporting members to collaborate and share best practice.

Abi has exemplified the values that NASMA would want from a Campaigns Co-ordinator, supporting members with an amazing campaign, showing the importance of pre-entry financial education. Abi has also been integral to the development of NASMA’s partnership with Save the Student, working together to represent the views of our members to national decision makers where student funding policy falls short.

Pamela has been NASMA’s lynchpin in Scotland. She has been a dedicated and knowledgeable voice for our members in Scotland, ensuring that the unique challenges and perspectives of Scottish institutions and students were heard and represented. She has worked tirelessly to strengthen NASMA’s engagement with Student Awards Agency Scotland.

Last but by no means least, Emma’s commitment to NASMA is second to none and has been deeply valued by both the Board and our wider membership. We are incredibly grateful for the time and energy she has given, not only to the Board, but as Regional Chair and member of the Hardship Funds Committee. Emma’s dedication, insight, and collaborative spirit have helped shape our direction and strengthen NASMA’s role as a leading voice for student money advice.

Kellie McAlonan, NASMA Chair, says:

‘Taking on the role of NASMA Chair was a daunting experience, and the one thing that made that easier was having a Board of committed, enthusiastic and reliable colleagues. It has been my greatest pleasure to work with Louise, Abi, Emma and Pamela, and to call them friends as well as colleagues. NASMA is better for having had their time, expertise and energy on the Board.’

On behalf of NASMA, we would like to extend our sincere thanks and heartfelt appreciation to Louise, Abi, Emma and Pamela as they step down from the NASMA Board.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and they have given throughout their service. While they may be stepping away from the Board, their impact will continue to resonate across the NASMA community, and we wish them all the very best for the future.
