For National Student Money Week 2026 we are excited to add Money Advice Scotland to our list of campaign partners.
Money Advice Scotland is Scotland’s money charity. They help people who are in debt, support money advisers and influence policy in Scotland. Their mission is to be a driving force towards financial wellbeing for the people of Scotland.
Money Advice Scotland will be providing both a pre-recorded webinar on the basics of pension planning and a live session focusing on accessing trustworthy debt advice.
Pension Planning the Basics – Pre-recorded webinar
Pre-recorded session which can be joined with a link. It is suitable for students from all nations and staff who may be interested. The session will cover the basics of what a pension is, what the different types of pensions are, and how auto enrolment works. There will also be some information on wills & power of attorney. This is a very general session and does not provide advice or specific details on plans or financial products.

Accessing Debt Advice – Live Session

A session aimed mainly at Scottish residents but students from other nations are welcome to join too. The session covers what to expect when accessing free Money Advice in Scotland.
Debt can be stressful and often not knowing where to turn or what to expect can make this completely overwhelming. This session will cover where and how to access free Money Advice services within Scotland as well as an overview of debt solutions available in Scotland.
Debt solutions do differ across the 4 nations but do have broadly similar approaches. As such, students from other nations may also find the session helpful, especially if they are nervous about seeking debt advice.
No specific advice will be given during the session only an overview of the solutions available. Again, the event is open to both students and staff alike.
