Message from the Chair - Easter 2016

Dear NASMA Members,

Firstly, on behalf of the NASMA Board and Staff, we hope you all had a wonderful Easter break.

There is a lot going on behind the scenes at the moment following the release of the new business plan in January.

Some of the most interesting and exciting changes are regarding membership with planned introductions of a new FE membership level and the proposal to introduce a new service level accreditation. We hope that these proposed changes will be the first huge step towards strengthening our organisation and ensuring an increased and more diverse level of income to support future growth and financial stability. More details will be released soon but we are looking for some initial feedback from members before we take the proposals any further forward. The survey is available here

We hit upon a few issues in finalising trainers for the NASMA ‘Working as One’ Conference 2016 but I’m pleased to say we are 99% there now, with just the final trainers to be confirmed this week. We still have a few other things to do before we can open bookings but I can confirm that bookings will now open in the week commencing 11th April. We have also updated the conference training plan with updated sessions that can be accessed here ( The session descriptions will also be available soon so keep an eye on the website and the mailbase.

I am also pleased to report that the NASMA board were invited to, and attended the SAAS conference as it coincided with our Board meeting, which was also being held in Edinburgh. It was a fantastic event, a great opportunity to meet our Scottish members and it was really refreshing to see SAAS speak openly and honestly about how they need to improve. They also are proactively looking to work in partnership with NASMA and other external stakeholders and was a huge departure to what we are used to. I feel it’s vital that we celebrate this in the hope that other funding providers can see this as good practise within the sector.

There’s plenty more going on, so look out for updates which as ever, will be shared online, via the mailbase and where appropriate on LinkedIn and Twitter.

Best Wishes,
