The NASMA website contains useful and informative training materials and resources.  The dedicated Members Area hosts additional information as well as a contact database for reaching other NASMA members.

NASMA Mail-base

NASMA members benefit from access to the mail-base 365 days a year. This is a JISCMail forum which provides an opportunity for members to learn from and contribute to an active and thematic dialogue of funding topics. The mail-base provides an opportunity to raise concerns and queries and is a two-way feedback mechanism between NASMA members and the NASMA Board. 

Please note that the mail-base is not available to Associate Members.

Regional Meetings

Regional Meetings take place around 3 times per membership year, taking place virtually during the recent pandemic.  These meetings provide regional training opportunities and are a platform to share information and best practice.  As NASMA is member-led, the agenda and guest speakers are always relevant to members' needs. Regional training offered in conjunction with these meetings is delivered free of charge to NASMA members. 


NASMA offers a variety of training events throughout the year both regionally and nationally.  Events include formal training by nationally recognised experts which ensures our members are kept up to date with the latest funding changes as they occur, and properly equipped to tackle difficult cases, as well as those issues that they deal with on a day to day basis.

There are discounts on training events for NASMA members and some events are offered free of charge ensuring that members can access a wide-range of relevant topics which offer excellent value for money. 

Please note that Associate Members will be required to pay the Associate rate for attendance at training events.

Annual Conference

The NASMA Annual Conference provides a unique opportunity to network with other NASMA members from across the UK, as well as to attend a programme of high-quality training and development workshops. In between workshops, members will have the opportunity to visit our marketplace and speak with external organisations with an interest in Student Finance who can help innovate the work you do.  Our annual 2-day conference coincides with our AGM to ensure members are aware of the work being undertaken by the Board and to allow key updates to be communicated.

Student Money Advice Awards

Our prestigious Student Money Advice Awards are awarded annually at the Gala Dinner that takes place as part of our conference. They provide a great opportunity for members to showcase their hard work, and to share this best practice and success with the sector. 

Accredited Member Status and CPD

NASMA operate an accreditation scheme for Individual members, and those named as part of an Educational membership, at no extra cost to members. There are lots of opportunities to work towards this, such as attendance at Regional Meetings and NASMA training events which contribute to CPD hours.  There are also opportunities to join committees and working groups which is an ideal way of gaining additional CPD development. 

NASMA Members who are awarded Accredited status may use the NASMA accredited status logo to demonstrate this on-going professional development.  Further information on gaining NASMA Accreditation is available in the Members' Area at: Guide to NASMA Accreditation


Through the NASMA Board and experienced NASMA members, we are able to reach key decision makers with the experiences of those working directly with students. Through the strength of the membership and our excellent links we can raise matters of relevance and are often consulted before final decisions are made. This extends beyond student funding, across to debt and welfare benefits and other issues that impact on students.
