APDE12
We are looking forward to welcoming you to our 19th Annual Professional Development Event (APDE). This will once again be held at the Hilton hotel on Liverpool’s waterfront. The dates for 2012 are Monday 2nd to Wednesday 4th July.
As always, this event will deliver an extensive and exciting range of training seminars for delegates, together with networking opportunities with the leading experts and practitioners in student money advice and student financial capability from across the UK.
Who should attend?
We believe that this event will be ideal for money advisers working in students unions, further education college and university advice centres, together with advice centre and bursary managers working in higher education and further education. Professionals experienced in delivering information, advice and guidance and financial capability education to students should also attend together with any other professionals wishing to develop and expand their knowledge in this sector.
Training Events
As in previous years, over 40 different training sessions will be delivered at the event, together with networking opportunities, our exhibition and information area and NASMA’s famous Annual Gala Dinner.
Seminars and workshops available at our 2012 event will include:
- Welfare Reform and Universal Credit
- Benefits for disabled students
- Estrangement & Independence
- Promoting your service
- Welfare benefits introduction
- Funding for students taking time out
- Dealing with debt
- Engaging with students
- Mediating with difficult people
- Using statute and regulations to assist students
In addition, NASMA and the Illegal Money Lending Team are undertaking research into the effects of illegal money lending on students and our 2012 APDE will see the publication of the results of this research.
Exhibition and Information Area
In addition to our extensive training programme, we will once again offer an exhibition area. This will allow delegates to receive information and network with specially selected partners from across the industry. If you are interested in booking a place in our exhibition area, please contact Lynne Charlwood on office@nasma.org.uk or 0113 212 3503.
Location
Following the success of our 2011 event we will once again be returning to Liverpool’s Hilton Hotel. Situated right in the heart of Liverpool’s vibrant city centre and standing beside the spectacular waterfront, the stylish and modern Hilton represents a fantastic venue at a fantastic price.
Delegate Rate
We aim to keep the delegate rate as low as possible whilst ensuring that we are able to attract trainers of the highest calibre. We are currently finalising exact costs which will be released in February.
Our full delegate rate will include your choice of training sessions together with all accommodation for the full three days of the event at either the Hilton hotel or the Hampton by Hilton hotel a short walk away. Also included are all your meals, your delegate pack and, for NASMA members, entrance to the NASMA Annual General Meeting. We even include our famous Gala Dinner at no extra cost.
Booking your place
Bookings will open on Tuesday 10 April 2012 for NASMA members and Tuesday 8 May 2012 for all other delegates. Online booking will be available. Payment will be taken by Paypal or via invoice. Bookings will remain open until Friday 1 June 2012 (subject to availability) and allocation for preferred seminars and hotel accommodation will be awarded on a first come first served basis.
