Benefits of Membership For FULL NASMA Members (Ordinary/Accredited)
Regional Meetings take place 3 times a year. They provide regional training opportunities and are a platform to share information and good practice. As the organisation is member-led, the agenda and guest speakers are always relevant to members' needs. Regional training is delivered free of charge to NASMA members.
NASMA offers a variety of training events throughout the year both regionally and nationally. Events include formal training by nationally recognised experts which ensures our members are kept up to date with the latest funding changes as they occur. This allows our members to be properly equipped to tackle difficult cases as well as those issues that they deal with on a day to day basis.
There are discounts on training events for NASMA members and some events are offered free of charge ensuring that members can access a wide-range of relevant topics which offer excellent value for money. Please note that Associate Members will be required to pay the Associate rate for attendance at training events.
The NASMA Annual 3-day Conference provides a unique opportunity to network with other NASMA members from across the UK, as well as to attend a programme of high-quality training workshops. In between workshops members will have the opportunity to visit our marketplace and speak with external organisations with an interest in Student Finance and who can help innovate the work you do.
Our annual conference coincides with our AGM to ensure members are aware of the work being undertaken by the Board and to allow key updates to be communicated. Day 2 of the conference finishes with the annual gala dinner and the announcement of the winners of our prestigious Student Money Advice Awards whilst members relax and celebrate the hard work undertaken over the year.
NASMA members benefit from access to the mail-base 365 days a year. This is a JISCMail forum which provides an opportunity for members to learn from and contribute to an active and thematic dialogue of funding topics. The mail-base provides an opportunity to raise concerns and queries, and is a two-way feedback mechanism between NASMA members and the NASMA Board. Please note that the mail-base is not available to Associate Members.

The NASMA website contains useful and informative training materials and resources. The dedicated Members Area hosts additional information as well as a contact database for reaching other NASMA members.
Accredited Member Status and CPD
NASMA Accredited Members may use the accredited status logo to demonstrate on-going professional development. Attendance at Regional Meetings and NASMA training events contribute to CPD hours towards NASMA Accreditation. There are also opportunities to join sub-groups and workings groups which is an ideal way of gaining additional CPD development. Through the NASMA Board, and experienced NASMA members, we are able to reach key decision makers with the experiences of those working directly with students. Through the strength of the membership and our excellent links we can raise matters of relevance and are often consulted before final decisions are made. This extends beyond student funding, across to debt and welfare benefits and other issues that impact on students.
